About Ancient City Moving and Hauling in St. Augustine, FL

Owner-Operated Moving and Hauling Service Since 2009

Ancient City Moving and Hauling is a licensed and insured moving and hauling company serving St. Augustine and surrounding areas. Owner Colin operates his own truck and trailer with a reliable 3-person crew, handling moves, junk removal, furniture hauling, and general labor throughout the community. After years working as an iron worker in Manhattan on major projects including Madison Square Garden and Freedom Tower, Colin relocated to St. Augustine and founded this business in 2009.

You'll work directly with Colin on every job. He's not building a large commercial operation—he's focused on keeping his crew busy and delivering honest, reliable work at rates that make sense for local homeowners and businesses. His approach is straightforward: show up when scheduled, handle your belongings carefully, and charge fairly for the work completed.

Whether you're moving across town, clearing out a garage, hauling away old furniture, or need help with a heavy lifting project, you're getting someone who has spent decades working with his hands and understands how to handle materials safely. Colin's background in structural ironwork means he knows how to secure loads properly, navigate tight spaces, and move heavy items without damaging property.

The business operates on a transparent pricing model—$140 per load for standard jobs, with flexibility on larger projects discussed upfront. You'll know what you're paying before the work starts.

Licensed Hauling Service Throughout St. Augustine and Northeast Florida

Colin started this business after semi-retiring from ironwork to stay active and serve the St. Augustine community. His philosophy is simple: "I'm always helping people." That means being responsive when you need something moved, showing up prepared with the right equipment, and treating your property with the same care he'd expect for his own.

Ancient City Moving and Hauling serves a 40-mile radius from St. Augustine, including Palm Coast, Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, Green Cove Springs, Orange Park, and Palatka. Standard hours are 9am to 5pm, with availability for urgent jobs when needed. The service area covers both residential neighborhoods and commercial properties throughout northeast Florida's coastal and inland communities.

With over a decade serving St. Augustine, Colin understands the mix of historic homes, newer developments, and multi-story buildings in the area. He's equipped to handle stairs, narrow doorways, and the logistical challenges that come with older construction. The truck and trailer setup allows for flexibility—whether you're moving a studio apartment's worth of furniture or hauling away renovation debris from a larger property.

What You Get Working With a Licensed, Owner-Operated Crew

When you hire Ancient City Moving and Hauling, you're getting Colin and his established 3-person crew—not a rotating roster of temporary workers. You'll communicate directly with the owner from your first call through job completion. Colin handles estimates, scheduling, and the actual work, which means no miscommunication between sales staff and the crew who shows up.

Services include local moving, furniture delivery and hauling, junk removal, estate cleanouts, and general labor for projects requiring heavy lifting or loading. The $140-per-load pricing structure keeps costs predictable for straightforward jobs, while larger or more complex work is discussed upfront so you understand exactly what you'll pay.
